“Wisdoms”- by various leaders

Reagan Thorpe - Calvary Tuscaloosa

““Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

I quote this verse to myself every time before I lead worship. The Lord commands us to be courageous in all that we do. This verse reminds me that the Lord is always with me and that I’m not leading on my own power, but through His strength. By reminding myself of this verse I am able to fearlessly worship the Lord and bring others into His presence.”

Austin McBride - Church at the Oaks

“Worship at its core starts with the Word. It’s been said before, but our doxology should start with our theology — When God reveals Himself to us, we respond in Worship. How does he reveal Himself? Through the Word. The frequency that we pick up our Bible should far outweigh the frequency we pick up our instruments.”

Hannah Grace - Northport Baptist Church

“Recently, I have been learning to slow down and enjoy where I am at. While it’s very easy, and even good, to want the next biggest thing like a new job or a great set, it’s sometimes hard to really appreciate what God has given you for right now. I am praying that we never lose our fire for more while growing to be truly grateful for what we have today.”

Justin Tharpe - Church of the Highlands

“In the past, I’ve heard the phrase that worship at the beginning of a church service is to “usher in the presence of the Holy Spirit.” I feel like that is incorrect because as Christians, we know that when one or more are gathered in Jesus’ name, the Holy Spirit is already present. I feel like God has been teaching me that the purpose of the worship portion of a service is to posture our hearts in a way that makes us ready to receive the Holy Spirit.”

Noah Beaver - Church at the Oaks

“I’ve been learning that worship is way more than Sundays. Worship is ALWAYS. Every second we should be Glorifying God in everything we do.”

Mary Hannah Miller - Calvary Tuscaloosa

“Ask yourself: WHY do you worship? WHAT do you need to lay down as you worship? HOW can you better walk in a state of praise to the Lord?”

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!”- Psalm 95:6 ESV
