“Slow down”

Serving the Lord is a good thing. If anybody says different, listen with caution. To use our gifts and talents, pouring ourselves out in service, and giving back to the Lord what has been given to us is something we are called to do not only as worship leaders, but as followers of Christ (regardless of gifting). That said, anything has the potential to become an idol. No matter how noble the cause or commendable the action, when anything other than Christ becomes the sole focus of our life, that’s when problems arise. Every heart has a throne and Jesus is the only one worthy and equipped to sit on it. As Thanksgiving approaches and with it a brief reprieve from routine, take a moment to thank Jesus. Slow down and remember all that He has done and sit STILL in His faithfulness and His goodness.

~ 2 Corinthians 4:18, Psalm 46:10
