“The Chimes”- by Noah Beaver

The biggest thing The Chimes Retreat represents is hospitality. In Luke chapter 9, Jesus tells the twelve disciples to go out and spread the Gospel. He told them to take nothing with them and rely purely on hospitality and the Spirit of the Lord at work in them. Similarly, a lot of these freshman are leaving behind their families, lives, and towns to step into a new place with new people. It is our calling to use the gifts, talents, and connections that God has given us to serve others, and in this case, helping new students find community. We had a great time being used as a vessel by God to be hospitable to these students as they get acclimated to their new home.
