“In hindsight…”- by Emma Barger
The two really big things the Lord has been pressing on my heart and working on me this semester are:
The Lord will provide.
Again and again, the Lord had shown that even when I have no idea what’s going on, He has got a plan. As a leader in our college group, it can be very scary to not know who’s going to play guitar, what songs can we do, where can we meet? From experience, when you try to fix these things on your own before coming to God, it doesn’t work out too well. But when we trust Him and let go, God will make a way for His people.
Proverbs 3:5-6, Proverbs 16:9
What you hope for is what you live for.
This has been a saying that has continued to challenge and shape me over the years. What is your hope in? If it’s in the Lord, how is that affecting how you live your daily life? I have to consistently ask myself these questions because it is so easy to get caught up in the world’s mindset of living your life for you. But we are called to live for Christ. We need to practice having an eternal mindset. One that has compassion on the lost and is willing to share the hope we have in Christ with them.
